How is it possible that Israel can treat the Palestinians the same way they were treated 60 years ago in Nazi controlled Europe. Is extermination something that the Jews are taught from their scriptures? Don't get me wrong, I am not anti Jew or anti anybody, but surely we can learn from the mistakes of the past.
I would really like to hear first hand reports from both Jews and Palestinians on how they view the current crisis and whether I have the right to compare what's happening in Gaza today with what happened in Poland during the second world war.
I don't think the Jews were given back their homeland after the war to then later practice the same atrocities on their Palestinian neighbors, who were actually cheated out of having their own homeland during the same period due to the terrible suffering of the European Jews during the reign of Adolf Hitler. I suppose it was quite understandable at the time as decisions had to be made to get the Jewish people back on their feet again where they could be safe from future persecution.
Today the boot is on the other foot and something now needs to be done to protect the Palestinian people from misguided leaders on both sides of the border.
The remaining few days of 2008 are crucial for these people to give hope to the Palestinian people or I am afraid that 2009 will begin with another bloodbath. Surely now is the time for world leaders to put these wrongs to right, so that both Jews and Palestinians can have a peaceful future side by side and not by creating another Ghetto in Gaza.
